Frequently Asked Questions
How does it all work?
Once we've had a chat and picked the perfect location, we meet up and just go for a walk... nothing forced or awkward. We'll stop every now and then when the light looks great, backdrop's pretty, or your dog does something adorable (which is usually always).
There's no pressure on them to pose or behave perfectly- your dog leads the way, has a good time, and lots of treats, and I capture all the real, joyful, muddy, tongue-out moments along the way.
What if my dog won’t sit still or behave?
Perfect. That's what I expect!
I've seen it all- dogs spinning in circles, ignoring every command, and a lot of 'is that edible' moments with my poor camera! It's all about the personality! From seasoned sitters, to chaotic little gremlins - I promise we'll get the shot!
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are outdoors and usually take place at parks, fields, woodlands, beaches or even your very own garden.
I travel all over the UK, and will work with you to decide on the best location for you and your pup.
Can you photograph my nervous or reactive dog?
Absolutely. I've met every kind of pup - shy, anxious, barky, bitey, bounce-off-the-walls crazy.. I work at their pace, keep things calm and can use longer lenses where space is needed. No pressure or judgement- just patience (and snacks).
What should I bring to the session?
I'll bring treats, and a few sound affects but if your dog's fussy, or has a favourite toy or ball that'll help get their attention then please do bring it along!
It can be useful to bring them some water too! Though its not too exerting, 30 minutes to an hour of running round having fun can be tiring for any pup!
Can I be in the photos?
Absolutely, whether you want to be fully in the frame, or just a hand + paw shot, we always try to get at least one photo with both hooman and pup in. (Unless you wouldn't like to of course).
Can my dog stay on the lead?
Yes! Lots of dogs I photograph stay on the lead the whole time- whether its for safety, training or because they'd sprint to Scotland given the chance. I can edit leads out, so your pup can stay safely attached.
How long does it take to get my photos back?
I always aim for less, but to be on the safe side I guarantee photos within 2-3 weeks of the session. I hand edit each image, that you'll receive in a private online gallery where you can view, download and swoon.
What should my dog wear?
Whatever they're comfy in! Any nice collar or harness is great- avoid worn out gear where possible. Harnesses and collars will not be edited out, so make sure your happy with your dogs wardrobe!
What if it rains or the weather is bad?
We reschedule. Im flexible, and your dogs safety and comfort comes first. Rain can be romantic, but not when everyone's shivering, soaked and covered in mud.
Unless your dog loves puddles and that's exactly the vibe your going for... we may just embrace the chaos.
Of course- there will be no financial effects of weather rescheduling. Your deposit will carry forward.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes- a 20% deposit secures your date and confirms your booking. The rest is to be paid on or before the day of your session.
Do you charge for additional dogs?
Nope! The more the merrier! As long as we're still working within the duration set out in the package you choose I don't charge for extra dogs.
